I think it would be fair enough to give grades base on the student's contribution, participation and attendance on the group projects.
Should you be nice?
Maybe Yes.
Why? Maybe they are busy with something else - acads, orgs, family, friends, lovelife.
Maybe some weren't receiving any messages since they are not member of Nicenet.
Maybe Not.
Why Not? Everyone is busy with something else - acads, orgs, family, friends, lovelife.
They should have the initiative to text their group leaders.
But definitely not to those who have contributed nothing.
"As in wala talaga, yung sumulpot na lang nung end na.

Last Day
I just want to say all my thanks to:
Patriz for the food. Really, all of it were delicious. It was you who had it all going, you were always there to assist all of us.
Jaristi for encouraging all the publicity committee members to have the fashion show, though it was a little bit embarrassing and all I did was to take pictures and laugh while having my pseudo fashion walk. You really did a good job in leading the publicity group.
Brenda for being my number one companion through the semester. You are the best.
Eileen for helping me calling the bars in the metro. You managed to saved a great deal of my time.
Ate Jen for being always on the go no matter what, especially in selling the shirts.
Kristine for your ideas that always helped everyone to have the sense of direction of what to do
Dawn and your band for the song and its recording. ^^
Bryan, thanks for the talk you, Agnes and I shared.
Sir Deocariza - without you, this wouldn't have been possible. I'm surely gonna miss the class. Thanks for allowing us to experience of how it feels to be part of the celebration of the anniversary of the college. It was really worth all the time and effort

Komedya: Serenata ng Banda
T_T Sad Sad. I forgot to bring my camera that day that I've watched that performance of the UP Symphony Band at the AS Steps.
So this will be the only entry of which I can show you guys any pictures.
So I'll just go into details.
So like what I have mentioned above, the UP Symphonic Band performed in part of the University's Celebration of Komedya during the month of February.
Prof. Lopez, a distinguished faculty of the College of Music was the head conductor of the band. I would also like to mention that he is currently the Vice President of the Samahan ng Banda ng Pilipinas. :D
He gave a short lecture first about what seranata is.
According to him, serenata is played or presented during the bisperas of a town fiesta. It started way back in 1821 Two bands compete by playing all the compositions/songs they know until one band emerges as a winner. So its like, the more songs y0u know or the band knows, the more likely that it will win.

However, rules were changed so instead of padamihan ng pagtugtog ng alam na piyesa, each band were now asked by playing what they call a set which consists of four categories compositions a band has to play: the concert march, the obertura, the solo instrument, dueto of the clarinet and flute, trio with French horn or a string quartet and lastly is the modern music which more likely are film music.
And the band begins to play.
I managed to watch them to play to composition and really they were awesome.
I still regret that I wasn't to capture the moment, either in the form of video or picture. Too sad.

CSSP Exhibit Launching
Add me, subtract sir
After all the gruesome preparation with time and efforts given, I am so happy because finally, I can see everything into action.
Yes!
To see all the outcome in one event was fantastic
Seeing that your classmates wears the shirts you've been selling/thinking of what design to print
Seeing that exhibit that highlights the transformation Palma through the years makes you feel proud that CSSP is and will always be your college.
Seeing the smiles of the professors, staff and fellow students as they applaud on the movie presented in tribute to thy respected college.
Seeing that everyone wants a copy of the bookmark my good friend made and joy I feel while giving the people in the lobby of these precious bookmarks that deprived me of my precious Sunday and sleep.
I can say no more.
But one thing is for sure. I am glad that I took this class.
And I'm proud that I have witnessed with my very own eyes, how CSSP celebrated its 25 years of existence during the 100th year of the University.

Add Sir, Subtract Me
I'm surely going to miss the class.

The Man Behind the CSSP Tribute Song
Yes.
I think there is a need for me to introduce the man everyone must be indebted with (haha, whole CWTS class I think) for without him and his marvelous creativity, CSSP tribute song wouldn't come to exist in this material world.
Ehem Ehem. Drum Roll Please....
"It is an honor for me to introduce the one and only, Mr. Ernest Jean Angeles". *clap clap* ^^

Spot the Difference.
Si Ernest or Ernie for short ay isa sa pinakamalapit kong kaibigan sa UP. :D
Nakilala ko siya nung first year pa lang ako, ngunit mas naging close kami noong unang semestre ng aking pangalawang taon sa UP.
Sobrang galit niya magsulat, mapa-English man o Tagalog.
And one day, when we were enjoying the soft breeze sa sunken garden, naisipan kong humingi ng tulong sa kanya.
Ernie: Ah, sige. (sabay kuha ng ballpen at ng kanyang magic notebook)
Sobrang thankful ako sa kanya kasi kahit anong titig ko sa papel, walang talaga akong maisulat, He was my messiah at that particular moment. :D
I'm really uber duper lucky to have him as my friend. *wink wink*
If you want to know morew about him, you can visit his site at:

Being a Saleswoman for a while.
Whew.
Now I realized how hard it is to sell stuff to people.
Now I understand how hard is the job of SM's salesmen/saleslady.
For 2 weeks, I was unfortunate enough to sell shirts - to strangers.
I have to go to UP early at 9 am which I'm not used to this semester since my class usually starts at 11 am.
I was given the chance to meet people from all walks of life:
and the list goes on.
What I've learned?
Be very courteous all the time
Try to match your "saleslady "attitude" base on the character of the customer.
Customers are not always right
Smile all the time.
At least I was able to practice my very poor PR skills.
And I get a free shirt - courtesy of Pat. :D

Bar Hopping
Backward Trace of Events...
The Publicity Committee first decided to have a Concert so as to publicize the upcoming events of the college. Months passed and we still weren't able to do something about the concert due to lack of resources; that is why we opted to have a bar party instead of a concert.
Yes, a bar party. Honestly, I felt relieved and worried at the same time since finally we don't have to do a concert which I think will be really hard to organized but I was ASSIGNED by Prof. Deocariza to head the logistics of the bar party. Really, I want to decline, but Prof Deocariza was so fast in emphasizing that I will be the one he'll contact for updates and asked me to write down his number. T_T
And so the quest of finding the perfect place of the party began. First, I surfed online to get necessary information about bars in the metro like there contact number and address. After which, I will call them isa-isa to be able to know the bar's capacity, bar's rental fee and discounts/freebies they could give us.
Calling them one by one is horrible! Some numbers I found in the internet are out of service; others have a terrible call center agents who are too grumpy to ask simple questions. Others were in doubt knowing that I'm a student while the rest were so willing to have their bars chosen that they've asked my cellphone number and bug me during ungodly hours.
Those who were so willing were visited by my mother and my tita. YES! I've asked my mother and tita to bar hop for me. It's not that I'm being lazy or anything but I just don't have the time to still go out 10 pm onwards. I really thanked them for being so generous on their time just to help finish what I have to do.
I just want to share couple of experiences they have:
Nung nasa taxi daw sila, pangisi-ngisi daw yung mga drayber ng mga nasakyan nilang taxi. Akala yata ay matrona sila na naghahanap ng alam-niyo-na-kung-ano. One of them even dared to ask mt mother and Tita "Gigimik kayo?", sabat tawa.
Then came the time to report all the data My mom, tita and I gathered. It was disappointing since Prof. Deocariza didn't approve any of the proposed bars due to their being so expensive. I was tasked to find a cheap bar that has the capacity to be filled with at least 100 people. And he mentioned a bar named "Palawan 2" in the outskirts of Cubao.
Mission Impossible.
Yes, Mission Impossible. A cheap bar that can host 100 people? You got to be kidding me! So I partake in the bar hopping to be able to let myself see how a bar looks.
What I found? Palawan 2 = very cheap. Sorry to say pero in looks like a plain beer house in the corner. Maliit, mapanghi, 1 fire exit only, it can hold 100 people but it will be very crowded.
Thank God because Mr. Deocariza decided to change the project. Thank you for being so considerate and see that its a mission impossible with the resources at hand.
He decided na lang to let us create a song as a tribute to CSSP ^^

Bookmark Cramming
My very first Filipino post.
Gusto ko siyang isulat sa Tagalog kasi sa tingin ko i will be able to express myself better.

Andami kong pinuntahang stall, mula GreenShoppe hanggang isko. Wala talaga.
Mahirap daw kasing maglayout sabi ni Kuya na back to back. Dapat daw pantay. Ilang beses ding nagkamali sa pagprint. Minsan malaki masyado tapos biglang maliit.
Kaso may bagong problema.

UP Centennial Kick-off
Ecstatic.
This the word that I can best described the UP Centennial Kick-Off Activity.
Sometimes, I still can't believe that I am part, a student of the ever prestigious UP Academe and fortunately be one with pride and glorious hearts to welcome UP's Celebration of 100 years of not just mere existence, but EXCELLENCE. It really makes you feel not only proud of yourself ut proud of what UP has been in service and contributed not only to the Philippine Society but also to the whole world.
And with me are thousands of my fellow "Skolars ng Bayan" from different UP campuses across the country with . This the first time that I ever saw a complete representation of Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Students from the whole UP System!
It was really engrande into the deepest sense! There were motorcades, lion dances, parade of students, faculty, staff and alumni from different UP contingents and sky jumpers! Yes sky jumpers! It was my first time to see one, thanks to UP, they were carrying banners that carries the emblem of different campuses welcomed the beginning of the events. People really run near the field beside Plaridel Hall just to witness this once in a lifetime event.
Then 10 Tambuli were played and 100 kwitis were fired to signaled the beginning of the program. After which, 100 torches were lit by significant individuals who serve very important role in UP. The first one to lit the torch was a 10 year old UP Engineering Alumnus. Really, I can't believe that there is actually still a living individual who saw UP back in 1933's. How I would love to have a talk with him and share stories of the University we are truly proud of!
Last torch was lit by the current President, Dr. Emerlinda Roman, she was also the one who gave life to the UP Cauldron with the flames of her torch. As she opened the celebration of UP Centennial, one hundred rifle shots will be fired into the air by the UP Rifle Team and I saw it right before my eyes.
the UP Cauldron
A free concert at the Amphitheater immediately followed featuring the world renowned UP Madrigal Singers, Ryan Cayabyab, Nanette Inventor and UP Symphonic Orchestra. There were also perfomances from the UAAP Champion UP Pep Squad and UPLB Street Dance Group.
And At last, what everyone has been waiting for! THe 13 minutes grand fireworks! It was really awesome. There is no tinge of regret in me for having stayed late after seeing the spectacular fireworks.
I hope that all UP Centennial Celebrations would be as much fun as I have experienced during the kick off!
Ciao. :D
